Sketchbook Shots

An artist's sketchbook is, at least in my opinion, a kind of visual diary.  The pieces below all have some significance or meaning that involves my current life and the issues I'm dealing with.  For that reason, they will remain bound in my sketchbook (at least for the time being) because of their chronological telling of my life story, in pictures and riddles.

Smoking Gun
Ink & Watercolor

Lyrics from a Vanessa Carlton song

Warmth
Ink & Watercolor

Boy, do I miss playing the cello...

YoungSadHigh
Ink & Watercolor

These are lyrics to a movie me and some friends were watching while my boyfriend got tattooed.  Simply but well put.

 There's Something in Your Hair...
Ink & Watercolor

You'll have to look very closely to see what I mean.

Over the Moon
Ink & Watercolor

If I'm not mistaken, this was drawn start to finish at my friend Anjipan's monthly What is That Though? art show, and painted afterward.

Merlady
Graphite

Story behind this one?  Steven and I went to Disney's Hollywood Studios and Magic Kingdom and, yeah, I was thinking about Ariel.

Keep Hesitating
Graphite & Ink

Anxieties about the future, anxieties about aging... don't we all have them?

Sink or Float
Ink

There's a bit of a rant in this one, if you care to take the time to read backwards words and beyond that decode my vague and spacey metaphors.  It is the most recent of all of these (as in, I drew most of it last night) and pretty accurately describes my current life situation.  If you can figure what it means, of course.
